Ingredients
- 4 cups (1 liter) milk
- 1 package puff pastry
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup whipping cream Vanilla stick and seeds
- 1 cup mixed nuts (pistachios, flaked almonds, pine nuts)
- ½ cup raisins
- ½ cup dried apricots, sliced thinly
- Cinnamon powder
- Desiccated coconut (upon taste)
Method
- Preheat oven to 175 C, place puff pastry on baking sheets. Bake for 15 minutes until golden and puffed, remove from oven but don’t turn oven off.
- Break puff pastry and place it into your serving dish.
- Add the mixed nuts, apricots and raisins, and distribute them evenly.
- In a saucepan, heat sweetened milk, vanilla, and milk on medium heat. Allow to cook for about 5 minutes.
- Pour the hot milk over puff pastry/nut mixture.
- Beat the whipped cream and spread evenly on top.
- Bake uncovered under broiler, for 10 to 15 minutes until the top is golden brown and becomes puffed up.
- remove and leave to sit for 10 minutes
- Garnish with nuts and cinnamon, and serve hot.
