Diet, exercise and medicine are the three primary ways to treat insulin resistance. A balanced, low-fat diet that offers plenty of fruits and vegetables is key. Regular exercise promotes healthier interaction between insulin and muscles and can even reverse weight gain.
As a family, you should go with a plan to make meaningful changes in your lifestyle, but none so drastic or difficult to maintain that you couldn't stick to them.
Some of the tips I can give you to make it easier for you to stick to the plan are the following:1.No more fast food2.No excessively sugary drinks (including juice)3.Lots of fresh, colorful fruits and vegetables4.Reading food labels5. Whole grains6.Healthy fats, not trans fats7.Avoid heavily processed foods, high fructose corn syrup and excessively-sugared beverages.
